Today, Voluxis utilizes both TrustFlight’s Centrik (Safety, Quality, and Risk Management) and Tech Log (Electronic Logbook). Using the TrustFlight Tech Log, Voluxis has managed over 1600 flights combined, reducing time, improving efficiency and mitigating risk for the organization every day.

Opportunity to Transform

Andrew Boxer-Missen, COO of Voluxis, shares that with a global presence and diverse fleet, Voluxis required a digital solution to deliver consistent and seamless management across its operation. Therefore, after successfully implementing TrustFlight’s Safety Management System, Voluxis made the decision to finalize their digital ecosystem by also integrating TrustFlight’s Tech Log, switching from manual paper tech logs to a fully electronic, paperless system.

Before selecting TrustFlight’s Tech Log, Voluxis relied on paper logbooks to manage their aircraft records. With a distinct global presence and a wide-ranging fleet of aircraft, this method was simply not efficient. Their existing process required flight crew members to manually make calculations and file documentation, which proved to be a time consuming endeavour. Evidently, change was required for Voluxis to continue to provide best-in-class service to their clients and ultimately develop fully electronic processes that integrated seamlessly with their existing suite of software.

When choosing a solution, Andrew noted that they wanted a solution that was easy to use and fully compliant with regulatory requirements, providing synergy rather than additional workload. Strategy Execution

Voluxis’ implementation of the TrustFlight Tech Log began in March 2023, following a thorough strategy plan between both teams. This plan allowed the teams to establish a complete timeline including a training schedule and overall plan of action for the implementation. Andrew recalls the implementation process as clear and straightforward, noting that TrustFlight’s application-based product simplified the process.

As all organizational changes come with challenges, there were some minor issues the team at Voluxis ran into during implementation. For example, during testing, the team noticed an issue with duplicating flights in the rostering system. Working together to resolve the issue, Andrew highlights that the team at TrustFlight provided unwavering support throughout, ensuring the issue was resolved promptly and effectively.

Like many organizations, the team at Voluxis was apprehensive about making such a significant systematic change, and the effect that training and implementation may have on the team’s short-term workload.

However, Andrew highlights it was clear that between the exceptional support from TrustFlight and the quick learning from the team at Voluxis, the capabilities of the TrustFlight Tech Log proved invaluable to the organization’s workflow and was easily worth the investment.

Outcome

Since implementation, Voluxis has noticed significant improvements in their operational processes. The key features that mark these improvements for Voluxis include real-time calculation of aircraft data, automatically generated journey logs and complete, real-time oversight of their aircraft fleet. Eliminating paper logs was ultimately the final step for Voluxis to develop a fully paperless cockpit, and they are confident in their digital future with TrustFlight as their trusted provider.
