Luxaviation Company Profile
Luxaviation Group is one of the world’s largest business aircraft and helicopter operators. Founded in 1964 by Belgian entrepreneur André Ganshof van der Meersch, the company has built a 60-year legacy in private aviation, offering bespoke luxury travel experiences. Headquartered in Luxembourg, Luxaviation manages over 140 facilities across five continents and boasts a workforce of more than 1,300 employees.
With sustainability at its core, Luxaviation is dedicated to continually evolving operations in line with the ever-changing luxury landscape. Suzy Gautrey, Group Safety and Compliance Manager at Luxaviation, highlights that the company integrates sustainability into it’s decision-making processes, actively handling social and environmental concerns and continually seeking to improve its operations. In doing so, turning to TrustFlight’s Centrik solution to streamline, harmonise and enhance their approach to safety management.
Today, Luxaviation utilizes 10 Centrik reports, including Safety, Quality, Risk, Training, and Workflows. Since implementing Centrik, they have created over 21,000 safety audits, 20,000 document reports and 13,000 quality audits to efficiently streamline and integrate their daily processes. Suzy shares that Centrik’s integrated approach and unified system proves invaluable to their organization and its commitment to sustainability.
Opportunity to Transform
As a global organization with 14 Air Operator Certificates (AOCs), Luxaviation faced a challenge in standardizing management processes across different regions. Each AOC had built their own approach, leading to operational inconsistencies. Some AOC’s had implemented digital platforms, and some were still using manual processes such as excel sheets and paper based processes. Thus, the organization recognized a need for a centralized and efficient solution to streamline these processes while accommodating diverse local requirements.
After an in-depth evaluation of various platforms, they chose TrustFlight’s Centrik solution, a robust and user-friendly platform that could standardize safety and compliance management across all their operations. Suzy highlights the two key reasons that Centrik stood out among competitors were its integrated approach and its user-friendly system. Centrik’s integrated system combines safety reporting, compliance management, and operational oversight into a unified platform, providing them with a comprehensive view of their global operations. Its intuitive interface facilitated quick adoption across teams, minimizing the complexity of transitioning from diverse systems. Therefore, presenting as an easy decision when choosing a solution that was perfect for their organizational needs.
Strategy Execution
Luxaviation’s journey with TrustFlight began in 2015 when Centrik was initially used within a previous operation. By 2017, the group expanded its use of Centrik across several AOCs, culminating in a full operational harmonization project in 2018. Like any systematic change in an organization, they experienced some minor challenges along the way. The primary challenge faced during implementation was investing time in familiarizing employees with the new system. This being a common challenge for organizations, TrustFlight knew that the implementation process should thus be carried out in a way that is conducive to the organization’s success.
Therefore, TrustFlight provided dedicated support, essential training and troubleshooting along the way, helping overcome any initial resistance to change. Suzy highlights that the teams support was instrumental in ensuring a seamless transition during the implementation process. Once the initial challenges were overcome, the team began noticing features of Centrik that they could foresee as crucial. For example, the ability to submit MORs directly to authorities through the E5x format significantly reduced time. The team also noticed that Centrik’s compatibility with iPads allowed them to submit safety reports from anywhere, enhancing flexibility and reducing the reliance on laptops or desktops.
Overall, although the strategy execution entailed some challenges along the way, Suzy notes that with commitment from both teams, the long-term savings and operational efficiencies were worth the time spent.
Outcome
Since adopting Centrik, Luxaviation has recorded significant improvements in process standardization and reporting efficiency. Multiple AOCs now operate on a single platform, enabling seamless management of safety and compliance at both local and group levels. This consolidated approach has allowed them to generate group-wide statistics, share critical safety information efficiently, and improve document distribution.
The implementation of Centrik has resulted in significant operational efficiencies, particularly in safety reporting and compliance management. The time savings from automating these processes have enabled Luxaviation’s teams to focus more on core operational tasks, boosting overall productivity. Centrik has not only streamlined the organizations processes but has also fostered a culture of continuous improvement. Its adaptability ensures that the platform scales alongside their global operations, maintaining safety and compliance at the heart of the company’s ethos.
